​Ladies join us for our 16th Annual Women's Pheasant Hunt
on Thursday, October 9, 2025

Pheasant Valley Farm is committed to maintaining Pennsylvania’s outdoor heritage, wildlife conservation, and hunting traditions. We believe in order to maintain this valued way of life, today’s women must be allowed the opportunity to gain hunting experience and learn about Pennsylvania’s rich hunting heritage. With that goal in mind, Pheasant Valley Farm in conjunction with the PA Game Commission and other conservation oriented folks would like to offer twenty women the opportunity to participate in a non-profit women’s hunt on Thursday, October 9, 2025 at our preserve in Robesonia, PA which is located west of Reading.

The day will begin with check in at 8:00 am, followed by a safety lesson over coffee and muffins at 8:30. At 9:30, the participants will practice their shooting skills by shooting clay targets. Shotguns will be provided by the PGC for those that do not have one. The field hunts will begin at 10:30. There will be five groups of four hunters. Each group will have their own female guide and dog, to locate and retrieve the birds, and a mentor to help facilitate the hunt. At 1:00, the groups will meet for lunch provided and prepared by PVF proprietor Mark Wolfskill. Following lunch and reflections, participants will have the opportunity to go back out into the field to hunt and/or to learn how to clean their birds. The day ends between 3-5pm.

All participants must be over 18 years old and present a Hunter/Trapper Education Course Card or a current PA. Hunting License at check-in. Pheasant stamp is not required.

Twenty participants will be accepted on a first come first serve basis. Fee for participation is $50 and must be submitted by 10/1/2025 to reserve your space. Checks may be written out to Pheasant Valley Farm and be mailed to Pheasant Valley Farm, 104 Stricker Road, Robesonia, PA 19551. If registering online please download the waiver and medical form, complete and submit along with the check or money order. If registering by mail or email, these forms will be sent to you. Participants from previous years will not be allowed to attend, but will be invited to attend a reunion hunt at a date TBD if there is enough interest.

This is a women only event and men are not allowed to participate or stay for the day.

           Pheasant Valley Farm ​Quality Upland Bird Hunting

Kick-Off Chukar Hunts

To kick off the season we are having two hunting/social events on Sat. Sept. 6 and Sat. Sept. 13.  

There will be no guides available. You must have your own dog.

 There will be five different hunting areas with five different start times. Hunts will last approximately 2 hours with the first hunt starting at 7 AM. We will try to accommodate specific start times if possible. We would like 2-4 hunters per hunt with a minimum of 3 chukars per hunter stocked. A single hunter must do a minimum of 6 chukars. There will also be pheasants on hand at $30 each. Adding hen pheasant or two is a great way to introduce your dog to pheasants. As always we will not combine groups. The intent is to do smaller, shorter hunts with the possibility of hunting multiple times throughout the day with breaks in between hunts. A complimentary lunch will be available from 9-3. All hunts will be billed at $20 a chukar. We will have plenty of chukars on hand so that hunts can be modified due to weather conditions and dog & hunter stamina. Our goal is to have a low pressure, fun event for everyone.
